Hi Everyone!

Sorry its been so very long. Its amazing how hard it is to fit in all of the work it takes to set up a post when you are going to school and going on trips all the time (not complaining though.)

Anyway, The post for the day is about my trip to York last weekend. This was my first independent trip to somewhere outside of London. My friends, Kathryn and Erin, and I managed to organize it. We had a great time. The following pictures are from our first day in York. The next two posts after this should cover the next two days of the trip. There are a lot of pictures, but I shall attempt to give at least a brief description of story about each.

We took the train into York and arrived at about 1:30pm. We then decided to spend the rest of the day wandering through the town and getting to know our way around. Much to my joy we spent most of the afternoon wondering through a number of ruins. <3

The above pic is of a medieval hospital.

We walked through the hospital and found ourselves in the middle of a field with this at the other end. It turns out we were in a roman fort.

The walls at the bottom are Roman as you can tell by the row of red brick that is there to stabalize the wall, but the top of the wall is Gothic medieval. – note the pointed arches. (ah architecture class.)

Incidentally the coffins are not originally from this sight. Apparently they were found when someone was digging the foundations for their building and someone thought that this was the best place for them. It seams that people find old Roman remains all the time.

Palm Trees in York? – The only reason this is here (other than the fact that I think this is odd) is that I think its pretty.

Next we wandered into a garden that was up against some of the old walls. Can you see Kathryn? If you look closely you might be able to tell – the edging of this garden is almost completely made out of stones from old buildings. Some even appear to have been from an old cathedral.  (probably from the Abby I will talk about next)

Next we came to the ruins of St. Mary’ s Abby. It is so beautiful! I love ruins.

After all of this wandering we went and found our hostel, checked in and got directions to The Black Swan, which is where we had dinner. It was really quite good and it was the first time since being in England that I had true English food when I’ve gone out to eat. There really aren’t any English food restaurants that I have found in London.

Well that’s all for now. I will not be posting tomorrow or Sunday because I will be in Bath! We have to meet at 9am.   But hopefully I will have another post up either tonight, Monday, or Tuesday. On Saterday my housemate Kathryn and I took pictures out our windows and wandered about the aria we are staying in so as to get to know it better. These are some of the pictures from that day. I hope you enjoy.

Long time no post. ^_^

Sorry it’s been so long. I am now studying in England and shall be trying to post at least one photo at least once a week but preferably closer to once a day. Today there shall be quite a few more. Seeing as it is my first week here and we did some touristy things for orientation.

Today all of my pictures are from our bus tour of London. Sadly all of them were taken through a bus window, but I am quite happy with them considering. I hope you enjoy them. Any comments at all would be appreciated.

A picture of a beautiful day for an almost equally beautiful day. A high of 75 in November.

Well now to the picture- this was taken on my family vacation to Florida this is the same place as the one with the alligator a few pictures back. I love these airboats. It was such a beautiful place.

Hello everyone! Sorry it has been so long. College has been crazy.  Well in honor of the busyness of college I have posted a pic from the Hollins Vs. Sweet Briar soccer game earlier this year.  I should be posting more, so see you soon ^_^

Anyway, on to the photography- This was taken in Orlando Florida, Aug 13 2009, when I was on vacation with my family . We went on an air boat ride (pic of boat to be posted soon.) It was amazing! After the ride was over they showed us a young alligator, talked about the conservation work they do, and gave everyone a chance to hold the alligator. I had tones of fun and would recommend going on an air boat ride to anyone going to Orlando.
